Far too many years ago we met Peter Lloyd at a woodworking show and bought his book (link), one of the projects in it has appealed to me for some time but I never had the opportunity to attempt it. Fast forward to a few weeks ago and I was thinking of making a gift for a friend and the writing slope from the book sprang to mind, the design changed a bit from the one in the book but that’s just how it goes sometimes. The majority of the wood for the project was Yew, and it was a challenge at times to work with but the end result was worth it. Finished dimensions 21.5cm wide 8cm high (at the back) and 37cm front to back.
